APEX RULES EFFECTIVE FEB. 29, 2016

APEX.png

Dear Students and Parents/Guardians:

As of Monday, February 29, 2016, the following rules and procedures will be in place in all Apex (credit-recovery) classes because we want to create the best and optimal learning environment for students. We want students to maximize their productivity and eliminate any unnecessary distractions in class. In order to do this, we have put the following procedures in place. Thank you in advance for your support in this matter. Together, we can promote a rich learning environment where students recover lost credits and either graduate from RVHS or transfer back to their home school.

Sincerely,

Imelda Donnelly and Lisa Shanahan

RVHS APEX teachers

Personal Belongings: All backpacks, bags, purses, binders, textbooks, etcetera must be kept under the desks/tables at all times. Desks need to remain free of personal items.

Apex is a No-Phone-Zone: Phones should never be out in Apex. They need to be in your backpack, purse, or pocket when you enter class.  If your phone is seen out for any reason, a campus supervisor will be called to pick up your phone. You will then be permitted to pick up your phone at the end of the school day. If you choose not to give your phone to a campus supervisor, then you will be immediately taken to the administration.

Music: Students may listen to music from one streaming site (Pandora) in Apex. You may only log into the Pandora site at the beginning of the period and you must stay on this site. No surfing for music or particular songs is ever permitted.  Students must provide their own ear buds to listen to music on the computer. If the teacher can hear your music, it is too loud and you need to turn it down immediately. You never have the right to interfere with other students’ rights to learn. Remember listening to music in Apex is a privilege that can be taken away at any time.
